Suspect grabs loaded gun during traffic stop
A man is behind bars after he pulls a gun out during a traffic stop Saturday night.
Volusia County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 50-year-old Darren Moore after deputies pulled him over for not having tag lights.
In the arrest report, deputies could smell marijuana coming from Moore's car. After the deputy asked multiple times, Moore eventually stepped out of his car.
In the body camera video, Moore drops something on the ground. The deputy on scene believed it to be a cellphone, but was surprised when he saw it was a handgun.
Moore attempted to flee the scene, but the officer grabbed him and asked him the drop the gun.
The deputy then gains possession of the handgun and finds bags filled with marijuana and hydrocodone on Moore.
Moore is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest without violence, and multiple drug charges.
